Norton doesn't work anyway
I use Avast Pro on Desktop & Avast Home on laptop (which is free), TBH i'd say both products are up there with the best,
My experience of the 100's of systems i've had to kill viruses on is. AVG doesn't work, Norton doesn't Work, Panda doesn't work, Mcafee doesn't work.
Windows defender & Windows firewall are both fine, if your computer sits behind a decent router (with built in firewall)

I've never had probs with Norton tbh, just sick of paying.
I agree, McAfee is a bag of wank.
Have never used Panda, my only experience of it was trying to install a non-server version on a win2003 server and it borked.
And I've only ever put AVG on computers for people who then never update it and get fucked over anyway.
I'll check out Avast... the name rings a vague bell

If somehow you fail the web site is www.avast.comNorton only fails because it doesn't find/remove viruses reminds me of 1 customer that phoned me up, told me what was wrong, I said "sounds like a virus" she replied "It's not! I have Norton 360 it's fully uptodate, and I just did a full scan and it found no problems" When I went out I found over 700 viruses on her system

i have avg and i have to say it aint great, i only keep it because we have to have some sort of software installed to use the network. To actually get rid of shite on my pc i use SUPERAntiSpyware - Free, and spybot search and destroy, - free, they both work rather nicely

I use only AVG. I'm smart enough not to download any dodgy things and I have a hardware firewall.

Avira antivir, spybot and the usual windows XP firewall, works good for me atm, had some problems without spybot before.
and the last time i reinstalled my system was in late 2006, i think...
